It was music that I would consider feminine, so allowing myself to accept the new feminine standards is quite a challenge. It really was difficult for me to go, "Okay, I can be feminine and soft as well as robust and look after me and not shrink myself." But I also had the option of stepping into the air and let it force me to move ahead. There is a possibility to go on days just walking around, going to coffee shops, museums and parks. London is a place where you are surrounded by people. In LA it can be solitary yet you're in the middle of everything. I am awestruck by people. In the field of music you're constantly in the company of guys. The feeling is that you are engaged with people all day long. The books were a wish to come true for myself. I've even read a few tours' books, in fact, and it's really lovely to have that sort of universe that one can retreat to in the midst of a the road, you're moving between cities and it can get extremely disorienting.
